1.Identify any three common problems in teaching-learning process and design any three tools for studying these problems. (500 words)

2.Explain the policies and programmes that would help all categories of children to participate in schools. Analyze the steps taken by your school in reaching all categories of marginalized children. (500 words)

3.Suppose you have taken a lesson on ‘Ecosystem’. You have to teach children about plants, animals, micro-organisms and the interaction of abiotic environment, human beings and their needs etc. Describe a play activity to teach these concepts in your class. (500 words)

BES-002: TEACHING-LEARNING AND ASSESSMENT

Answer the following questions in about 1500 words.

1. Distinguish between acculturation and enculturation with examples. (500 words)

2.Explain the purpose of using teaching-learning materials (TL MS) in teaching-learning process. (500 words)


3.Enlist the principles underling Planning and Organization of Co-curricular activities. Select any one co-curricular activity and discuss the guidelines for organizing it in the School. (500 words)

BES 004: CONTEMPORARY INDIAN SOCIETY AND EDUCATION

Answer the following questions in about 1500 words.

1.Critically analyse the factors leading to the rise of National Consciousness during the British rule. How did it spread ideas on education? (500 words)

2.You as a teacher must be implementing Right to Education Act-2009 in your school. What barriers do you face for its effective implementation? According to you, how the barriers can be removed? Explain it in the context of your school and locality. (500 words)

3.Absenteeism is a barrier for achieving Universalisation of Elementary Education (UEE) and collect attendance related data of the students for last three years from your school. Analyse the data and prepare a short write up on, how to address the problem of absenteeism in the school. (500 words)

BES-008: LANGUAGE AND EARLY LITERACY

Answer the following questions in about 1500 words.

1.Describe the process that a dialect usually passes through to become a standard language. Give examples of regional variation (at the level of sound and words) in language in your state. (500 words)

2.Discuss the language acquisition theories of Piaget, Chomsky and Vygotsky. Bring out the differences in their theories. (500 words)

3.Design and try out work cards in Science, EVS and Maths to teach writing skills to your learners. Write a report on the outcomes. (Note: Do not reproduce examples from the study material) (500 words)


BES-009: TEACHING OF MATHEMATICS FOR THE PRIMARY SCHOOL CHILD

Answer the following questions in about 1500 words.

1.What do you mean by pre-number concepts? Discuss each pre-number concept with examples. (500 words)

2.Differentiate between standard and non standard units? How will you help your children to understand the concept of standard units using non standard units? (500 words)

3. a) Observe children of your class and identify the strategies used by them in constructing mathematical knowledge. Prepare a report.

b)“Decimal representations are difficult for children to understand”. What are the possible reasons for this? Suggest two activities to teach the place value representations of decimal fractions. (500 words)

BES-010: TEACHING OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES

Answer the following questions in about 1500 words.

1.Explain the methods/strategies that could be used to elicit children’s ideas and prior knowledge during the teaching-learning process. Illustrate your answer with examples. (500 words)

2.“Hands-on experiences facilitate learning at primary stage”. Enumerate this statement by selecting ‘field visits’ as a teaching-learning strategy to provide hands-on experiences to children. Justify your answer with suitable examples. (500 words)

3.Describe the components of a unit plan. Select any unit from Class V Environmental Studies textbook and prepare an outline of the unit plan. (500 words)
